Glenn Beck at Berkeley

I don’t think I would agree that Glenn Beck has failed as a person. He has mobilized–many times single-handedly-impressive amounts of individuals. The worthiness or legitimacy of his cause is another story entirely. While I disagree with Glenn Beck on most everything, I still respect his ability to inspire fear, manipulate and steer conversation in the current political arena. I think his success illuminates the delinquencies of the American mind, rather than his own *unique *evil. Let’s be honest, what Beck does is nothing new, it’s existed on both sides (albeit more successfully on the right) for decades now. The fact that people recognize what he does (and those similar) as something legitimate, or as worthy of being considered journalism, may be more destructive than anything Beck could ever hope to accomplish for his personal ideology. In other words, it’s the ****ed up game that we should be worried about, not the fleeting poster-boy of the moment.

Ah, yea. I am SO ****ing smart.

what’s worse than bumping your own thread is bumping one that reminds us all about that uneducated moron…

What’s worse? Drinking since 2pm for a lack of anything better to do.

Break is so long, Oakland is so cold, SLO is so pleasant. Want to do? My god, this situation has yielded no bed. Beds are left to the frozen, yet damp, landscape of the infected Rockridge district of Oakland.

boy, i thought I was the only one :D

jose cuervo is calling

The Federal Reserve caused the Great Depression?! Black Friday might be the ostensible answer, but “the Federal Reserve” is just wrong. The Federal Reserve what?

Tastybeef, this has nothing to do with conservatives or liberals. It has to do with a dumb way of making fun of people that’s been going around on tv shows for a while. Jay Leno loves to do this with his “Jaywalking” segment. He’s not conservative, as far as I know.
