Glenn Beck at Berkeley

[Glenn Beck - Current Events & Politics - Video of the Day - September 22, 2009](http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/30921/)

Oh god, this is so good.

Sorry, Berkeley, that your students are mocked by idiots. Sorry, Ektylor, that isn’t good. If you’re looking for examples of ignorant young people, you could do much better. Too bad it wasn’t funny.

Ugh, I watched this on youtube… He’s so… (am I allowed to say ■■■■■■■■??!)
But seriously, I’m sure he picked out parts of the interview that went very well with his little agenda, and did a great job at making it seem like all berkeley students are ignorant. He doesn’t get that we don’t come to the university to be force-fed some history facts or to answer random questions on the history of politics. Professors foster critical thinking and problem solving in the students, not always depending on memorization. Not all of us are political science majors, and may have much more depth and interest in another areas in academics. I feel like it’s pointless arguing with people like him though, when their whole mindset is to put others down.

^Yes, I’m picturing a physics major asking Beck some clever gravitational questions and Beck looking even more the fool.

I use “good” with a certain flippancy I thought was obvious. Some of you are so vacuous it makes me tired.

tastybeef time!

Sorry I made you tired. I had no point of reference to realize you were being flippant so I unfairly thought you were an an idiot. Again, sorry.

I’m so misunderstood!

Aren’t we all? Good night.

Sure, but really, nothing I’ve said in this thread has been genuine. Nothing I say in most threads is genuine, yet this somehow this slips under the rug. From a ■■■■■■ perspective, I’m doing quite well, really.

Not trying to tell you how to live your life, but I’m probably 90% genuine and 10% bull**** and live has been pretty good to me.

Peace

Not only were the questions kind of ridiculous and probably taken out of context (and perfectly legit answers rejected because they didn’t fit the proper worldview) some of the claims were just plain wrong. Ab Lincoln was a whig, for example. During his tenure in Congress.

Study up Steven Crowder.

LOL, if Berkeley students are “idiots”, what would Oklahoma State University students be?

Those are pretty basic knowledge questions. Berkeley is an obvious target for Glenn since it’s so damn liberal, and a lot of the people are just plain stupid. The guy answering questisons about the Assault Weapons Ban Act was a LAW STUDENT. Watch the whole video here: [YouTube - FILTHY HIPPIES EVERYWHERE! (Crowder Does UCBerkeley)](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUybMMYmpxo)
While these people are plainly stupid and some people at Berkeley ARE stupid, I agree that the average student is much more intelligent than this, and a lot of people just aren’t into politics. However, if you are, then you should know why you stand where you do, and know about what is going on.

This was probably edited and Crowder is just trying to make a point. While part of what he is saying is true, it is obviously biased… just like Michael Moore “documentaries”, sans the truth part.

@ AVNevis: Lincoln was a Whig before his presidency, but the question was who is your favorite president and he was a Republican during his presidency.

Keep in mind this comes from the guy who says our half white president, who was raised almost solely by his white family (and to some extent his Indonesian step-father), “has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture.”

Glenn Beck generally lack any intellect, so in order to try to make his show make sense, he has to violate all senses of journalist integrity in order to make his point seem accurate.

Also, he fails to mention that back then, the Republicans were the liberals (and it slowly changed to become the other way around) and that Lincoln actually picked a Democratic running mater (which later backfired on the nation, but that is besides the point).

I think it’s been well established that Glenn Beck is a real life ■■■■■.

I hate these whole hey random kid “What do you think about/what is the significance of XYZ political issue?” Some people don’t care about politics and the ones that do have probably been cut out.

even worse is when someone from Fox and Friends actually disagrees with that attack on Obama. then you know you’ve gone somewhere that nobody dares tread.

This video baffled me for a few minutes…

While it’s funny to ask pedestrians random historical factoids and make them out to be imbeciles upon their inability to recall such useless information, it would be repulsively pedantic to do the same with basic science questions.

Both basic science and history are covered in general education, so why is it that I would look like a dick if I went around asking people the molecular weight of Carbon or the four DNA nucleotides and laughed at those who can’t answer my questions correctly?

Then I remembered. This is a country full of conservative morons who are still struggling with the concept that the Earth is round and supporting intelligent design. Sigh.

I agree, TastyBeef.

Glenn Beck has failed as a human being in every possible way. For him to even attempt to find fault in others is more than ridiculous. He claims to be civic-minded and passionate about this country, but he is actually one of the most destructive forces in American politics today. I predict that his lifelong quest to prove that liberals are ignorant and conservatives are superior will ultimately be a wasted one.

As well, I would urge Beck to go visit a college, like LSU perhaps, and see what the responses are to these very same questions.
