Gluten Free - sharing resources

yes @LeoGeo22 lactose intolerance and allergy to milk protein are different.

Wegmans (at least the one near me) has it in various places. They have a gluten free aisle where you can buy bread, cookies, snacks, baking goods, etc. They have gluten free bread in the freezer section along with other gluten free products like pizzas, appetizers, etc. With pasta, they have brown rice pasta and chick pea pasta as well as gluten free Barilla pasta in the normal pasta aisle.

You can tell when the marketing types have been around, they re-arrange things in the store and Wegmans does it a lot. The reason they do it is simple, by doing that, you then have to search where the product is now located, and in the process you go through other aisles where they want you to see other things and buy them. They claim they are moving things around to make it easier to shop, but that is bs, it is all about getting people to see other aisles and buy things they otherwise wouldnt.

Wegman’s sigh. They were ahead of their times, and we miss them still. Glad to hear they have a good assortment of GF.

Started gluten free or close to it diet Jan 10th to see if H had intolerance. He has an autoimmune thyroid disease which I read was related. I eat along with him and have no problem following it. The hardest was pasta and we are still trying different ones. The pizza we like the best is Sonoma flat bread supreme from Walmart is a Donato gluten free frozen pizza.

It actually was this thread that got me to thinking about how H’s symptoms started with the thyroid onset. It has been 7 weeks and he is not complaining about the diet and does think he is doing much better. H is a gourmet home cook (French trained for a summer in Paul Bocouse Institute) and luckily the French cooking does not cross over much with gluten. Being retired we have had plenty of time to study and try local stores, online, and restaurants. We live in a small town but frequent Seattle and Los Angeles. I’m looking forward to the access of Metropolitan Market in Seattle along with Trader Joes. We have not found a fettuccini we like and it looks like TJ would be a good try. H loves Garafalo from Costco so I will look into the gf one from Amazon. Thanks for the suggestions.

The TJ fresh pasta is great. It tastes just like this one but is way cheaper. I find this at Whole Foods. Pardon Our Interruption
