gmail trying to make sure you don't send an email you will later regret

<p>The Google email sytem gmail is now testing whether or not you are coherent before it will let you hit the send button late on Friday or Saturday nights. </p>

<p>They would do better just flashing a request to read over the e-mail and make sure you want to send it. May be a problem if you need to get a paper out by a deadline and can’t manage to get the math problems to go through.</p>

<p>Why couldn’t this have been instituted sooner? Late one night last week, my D accidentally sent a message from her g-mail account to a college coach instead of to me. It contained an embarrassing comment about his e-mail and a sarcastic comment about her high school coach. Oh well, that’s one school we can cross off the list!!</p>

<p>Our email system at work has an “un-send” button. It only works if you send things within the system though, you can’t “unsend” if it goes outside our company.</p>

<p>I wish all e-mails had an “unsend” button.</p>

<p>Knowing how to “reply” vs “reply all” ought to be a basic job skill. Wait, it will be soon, since those who don’t know, will all be first fired in the bad economy…</p>

<p>I think it was AOL or somesuch that had unsend- but the mail goggle thing cracked me up- I think they should have time delay on cellphones too. ;)</p>

<p>That was a great feature of aol. I too wish that all mail systems had it. I was told that Microsoft Outlook has a recall feature, but that the original mail still goes through, It just gets marked as recalled. If so, it’s pretty pointless.</p>

<p>EK4, you can do that. There’s some service I’ve heard about where you can ask the phone company to block you from calling certain numbers for a period of time.</p>

<p>Or maybe google can use some algorithm that can screen for 4 letter words and the density of those words in your message. And then put you through the math quiz…or maybe tell you 4 or 5 jokes…or maybe make you read some Dalai Lama writings about happiness.</p>
