wow NYC and UCLA…haha…im 21 too…workstudy job is easier, cushier and on-campus…I don’t know if you can spend the money however you like though, I think it all has to go towards your fees, but Im not sure. I plan to get a job in summer and go from there…

i have solid work experience, i would love a part time job for like 15$ an hour … secretary, aa type job.
Like 20 hours a week, on campus, but its going to be hard to find.

Summer job i will have to do … in order to afford living in the summer, that doesnt help me while iam in ucla really… hopefully it will not be extremly dificult to find a job in la

no. i said i have work experience. … i think i should be able to pull off 12-15. there is a full time job i can get for 44k in woodland hils, but … i dont konw if UCLA has evenining classes

Malishka31- Cost of schooling/living expenses is my biggest fear. Like you, I’m on my own in a city where the cost of living is amongst the highest in the country. Oh well, you know if you want to save on room and board, you can sleep in LAX every night lol. The #3 bus travels from UCLA to LAX (actually the LAX transit center with airport shuttle) where you can pose as a layover traveller and catch some shut eye in the Tom Bradley terminal (2nd floor to the right where all the benches are).

Citan, i have to be full time, financial aid.

I am ok looking, i am not a blue eyed blond , lets just say that.
I am russian, i am not tiny, i am attractive but not hot or anything.

And i dont want to get laid with anyone, i want my man.
So no sex for me i guess, but i can have sex with girls, atleast he is letting me… so i mean, if that happens that would be fun too .

I was thinking of maybe living at home in San Diego, but going to school and getting a motel like M-W and going to class only M-W
but thats stupid .

Or living at the airport. … that would always work

Tuition - 7K
Living - 6K (University Apartments)

The living I have to manage on my own…the tuition my parents and loans will pay off.

UCLA calculates books as 1500 which is ********…it will be considerably less if you use half.com etc. They also list transportation cost to be 1K, which will be 0 for me because I dont’ plan to take a car. They also have personal expenses…well that depends on the person. Im pretty careful with my money and I doubt if I will spend a lot in that area. Food shouldn’t be a problem either…I can live off cereal and ramen. And I will be living 50 min. from home so food in weekend is covered…all in all Im looking at around 14-15K per year…I also plan to get job in campus to cover some of that.

Im gettin ZERO financial aid so Im in a much worse situation than all of you.

Well your getting 0 FIn aid, because your parents have money, so its a bit diffrent.

My mom has cancer and gets some SSI benefits and that barely covers her expenses.
Citan i assume your a guy… so you probably wil have minimal personal expenses and on top of that, you dont care about sharing a room.

I care about sharing a room, as i mentioned b4 b/c of being sexually abused and sleeping with someone in the same room creeps me out beyond all means and changining in front of someone and so on. … so for me the only option is getting a single on campus or a single in univeristy apartments, if i dont get that, i have to go and get an off campus apartment, which i can not afford.

i feel like in the end, come september i might end up not going at all to any school.

Does anyone know when we hear from housing?

sorry to hear that Malishka…apartments in Westwood area are expensive…2 bedroom rent start at 2K…so you have to share room with someone. If you are getting financial aid try to get university apartment or residence hall single rooms.

You have to submit housing by June 1st and they mail you offers by June 12. I am going to submit my app today…trying to get the one bedroom three occupants plan (5K so cheapest)…talk about gay lol

Citan, do you know where I can find info on which university housing have the fitness center? I think I might need to change to on-campus uinveristy housing. I just realized that me and my old roomates got evicted once, so I don’t know if that will affect my ability to rent on my own.
