Yes, I drove to Berkeley and met up with my admissions counselor this past Friday to ask about that. Since they are SIRs for different terms, it’s perfectly fine. Transfer students are allowed to attend another 4 year university as long as they don’t go over 80 units (so basically, whatever I take @ UCLA would not transfer).

"UCB and UCLA no

UCS and any UC … OK"

Really, so it is very ok to send SIR to USC and UCLA? But we can only attend one school though, so what if we send the SIR but are unable to attend one of them?

Bokchoi, would you be able to take upper division classes at UCLA? And if you did, would they satisfy major requirements at berk, just not transfer as units?

Keven101

USC and UCLA are in diffrent school systems. THey arent going to know that you send the sir to both schools.

If you send and then do not attend i belive you will just end up loosing your deposit that you pay at the time of submitting the sir.

No one will come to your house and beat you with a stick or anything… so feel free to submit it to both USC and UCLA.

Now for example UCSD and UCLA for fall 06, you can not submit both, b/c it specifically says, “submitting to two schools can cause you to not be eligble” or something to that effect while you submit the sir.

I have gone through the process of almost submitting to UCSD and it had that message, and i have submitted it to UCLA and it had tht message on one of the pages as well.

Bokchois case is diffrent as they are for diffrent terms, and even in that case i would call and verify b4 hand just to be on the safe side as you never know what one admissions councelor will say from student to student.

Thank for the information…

if i dont get on campus housing, anyone have any suggestions of where i can live?

I dont mind living somehwere as far as 1.5 hours from campus by bus/metro.

ANy suggestions?
Somewhere CHEAP… but it cannot be ghetto.

Palms, some parts of Santa Monica, anything south of Wilshire.

i found some place on wilshire… is wilshire ghetto?

i am sheltered white girl living in public housing in one of the nicest neighborhoods in san diego.

I think brooklyn is ghetto and i wont go outside at night

so it has to be really not even close to gheto like enviroment

depends on what the corener street of wilshire is…

Wilshire can be found in multi million dollar areas of Santa Monica which is close to the beach, also can be found in down town, or close to down town.

Malishka,
if I attend UCLA, i’ll probably live in the Valley. either in studio city, sherman oaks, toluca lake, or some similar area, all close to UCLA - about 20 min. drive or “metro rapid” on 405. they are nice areas and not ghetto in the least.

btw, happy to see that you got in as well! :)

Buerre, when ar eyou going to decide if you are going to go.

I was looking at those areas but i couldnt figure out if there was a METRO to them.
THat helps. THanks

why don’t we get a group of CCers to room together? I’m looking for a roommate as well…

I’ll decide when I hear back about my update form. I truly never figured that I would get into every school I applied, but UCLA is my dream school. I sooooo want to 8 clap! ;)

Metro absolutely serves those areas. however, the subway (my fave :)) doesn’t run from the valley to the west l.a., just the regular and “rapid” buses. I use “” because “rapid” simply doesn’t happen on the 405, lol.

link for ya…
MTA - http://www.mta.net/default.asp
just use the trip planner and map out a route to UCLA from wherever you’re thinking about moving. also, let me know if you have any questions about valley or east hollywood/glendale/burbank areas. good luck!

i was just htinking about this . it would be a great idea.

We could get like a 3 bedroom or something.

but i personally have no desire to share a room with someoen

wait, whats the diff between metro and subway?

Malishka, same here, if we can find another person, we can get that started…

do you have AIM?

metro is everything including trains, subway, and buses.
the subway basically runs form north hollywood to downtown, it also stops in the hollywood side of west l.a., but too far away from UCLA for a walk. so buses are probably the best choice for commuting around UCLA.

If we can get a group of biz/econ people living together, it would sure be beneficial to everyone thats involved…

same screen name Malishka31

You guys could start a thread “UC ccers roomies wanted” thread or something. I’m in the same process right now…I could live with friends but I think it would be better for me to live with strangers since I would have more of an incentive to meet people.
