i’m a newly admitted transfer

and I’m currently in the college of natural resources and I want to transfer to the college of letters and sciences. I’ve talked to one of the counselors and L & S and she basically said since I’m set on going to that college I should just attend the L&S calso orientation. can i do that? will I miss something from the college of natural resources?

I was admitted as a CNR student, and went to the CNR calso. Then i transfered to LS after my first semester. So far, I haven’t felt like i’ve missed anything from the LS calso. Since you can’t transfer to LS until after your first semester (though i’m not sure about transfer students), you may want to go to the CNR calso so that you are all set for your first semester in CNR. I don’t think the two colleges really do that much that’s different, but I do know that since CNR is smaller, they require you to meet with an advisor to get a code before signing up for spring classes.

oh wow thanks!

was it hard to transfer from college of cnr to college of letters and sciences? i know there’s alot of competition and you need to get outstanding grades in your economics theory and stats class.

how difficult was it to transfer colleges? since there’s so many people admitted this year as pre-economics I’m really worried

transferring into LS is easy as long as you have around a 3.0 or higher, and have completed a decent semester of coursework. They have you write a short essay on what your plans are and why you want to transfer. here’s the LS webpage describing the process w/ forms

JBtheeunknown,

yeah I saw that , do you recommending me taking summer sessions to get ahead of others?I’ll be taking a course of economic theory. for transfers I need just two more since I’ve completed it all. so if I take one over summer I’ll have one left.I didn’t get admitted as an economics major I’m afraid there’s too much competition.

so it was easy to transfer into LS then? is summer sessions a smart idea?

I don’t know all that much about how transfers should do this, so i don’t think i can be of much help. But I know it’s harder for sophomores and juniors to change colleges, so you might want to do everything you can to improve your chances, whatever that may be.

do you know anyone that transferred colleges though?

JBtheeunknown,
I mean do you know any junior transfers that were able to transfer colleges?
