I’m a freshman at Lehigh University right now. Basically I’m just trying to get out of here as soon as possible but really want a chance at transferring to Boston College or USC. Would if affect my chances if I went to community college at home for the spring semester? Would my prospective schools still consider the fact that my grades are coming from a somewhat prestigious university?
If I were to go to community college for spring, I’d be taking a leave of absence from Lehigh in case I don’t get in anywhere better and need to come back. Any help would be appreciated
“I’d be taking a leave of absence from Lehigh in case I don’t get in anywhere better and need to come back.”
There is your answer: Since you would go back to Lehigh if you didn’t get in elsewhere, you are better off staying at Lehigh. That way you know for certain that all of your classes will apply to your possible Lehigh degree.
If you dislike Lehigh so much (or if it is truly too expensive for you), and you weren’t planning to keep Lehigh as your back-up plan, then going to the CC makes more sense. You could stay at that CC until you did manage to transfer to a place that you liked and was more affordable.
