Hi, I graduated with BA in Economics on December of 2011.
I am currently working but I want to go back to graduate school as soon as possible.

Should I take some classes at a 4-year university extension before I apply to graduate school? Will my work experience be a plus for graduate school admission if the experience is relevant?

I don’t see any advantage whatsoever to taking additional classes before applying to graduate school. Just go ahead and knock out the GRE and apply for Fall 2013. If you wait too long, professors are going to forget who you are, making it difficult to get letters of recommendation.

In general, work experience is a plus. One of your letters of recommendation could come from your immediate supervisor.

Since you graduated so recently, I agree that additional classes don’t seem necessary, UNLESS you are trying to enter an area that you do not yet have much experience in OR if you did not form relationships with any of your professors while you were an undergraduate. Even if you think the latter is the case, it might be worth asking some of your old professors if they would write LORs for you, as they may remember you more than you think. Since you have not said why you think taking classes might help, none of this might apply to your case. Unless your work is completely unrelated to what you hope to do in grad school, a letter from your boss at work is probably a good idea.
