Had 740CR/680M/680W (2100) w/o prep. Really need to boost writing and math!Any tips?
I’m also taking it in october but if I don’t reach my goal of 2300 should I take it again in December or will it be too late to meet the 1/1 deadline?
Is anyone else taking SATIIs in Nov?

How did you do it ? thanks

I got 730/650/760 w/o prep (2140, Nov. test. Yes, THE HARD ONE). I really need a 2300. I’m focusing on Math, as I don’t think prepping will do me much for CR or W. CR is random and I do better or worse depending on the questions/passages (I think I’m capable of 780+ though), and writing; I am 99% sure I’ll get an 800 next time if I pay attention more.

Math is my downfall though. Shooting for ~720, 700+ at least. I will be practicing every day! BB ftw!

I’ve rised from 1750 to about 2100. Now it seems impossible to jump above 2200…I’ve done bb, and I’m taking January SAT. Any last-minute tips guys?

Started in Nov prepping for Jan test. Raised from a 2050ish to 2300-2400. I just took an official test and got a 790M 800CR and 680W :(. Usually get an 800 on writing but I just spazzed this test and found the problems really difficult unlike usual…that will be a 750+ by the time I’m done. As for math, the one I got wrong was poorly worded, like I would NEVER see that on a real SAT sitting poorly worded.

I went from 2040 to 2240. Basically I just drilled through practice questions and tests. Vocab is really important on CR, so I suggest reading a lot of books and listening to vocabulary podcasts and stuff (those are great, one of the words I learned on one of them got me a vocab question on the last SAT I took). As for math, you really just have to be good at math. one tip: learn what an integer is. Haha, I only remotely knew what one was on the first SAT I took and it probably killed be on a couple questions. Writing is irrelevant, colleges rarely take it into account, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

I went from 2010 to 2310, it’s definitely doable. I took the first test cold. Second time, I took a couple days off school, sat home and did practise tests for like 48 hours straight. I also prepped a couple of examples for the essay and read over the vocab I didn’t know. But I’m a crazy procrastinator so I don’t recommend my method LOL.

Took the Nov test btw.

I only took the test once but my practice test scores jumped a lot…
I started at 2100 or so for my first practice tests and on my very last practice exam i scored 2340. Then I got a 2370 on the December test. I did more than 20 practice exams, took a course (although everything they said was in the Barron’s book). I did some vocab studying but I also read a fair amount so that probably helped too.

Personally, what I think is most effective is to read the Barron’s book and do a lot of practice exams (although barron’s exams are much harder than the actual SAT). I also did the entire Barron’s 2400 book which was helpful as well. Good luck!

I’m facing the same problem my first SAT was taken last Jan - got a 2110. Hoping for a 2300 when I take the exam in 27 days!

Am just currently doing all the BB practice tests and reading explanations to every single question in detail. Also memorising Direct Hits and Princeton Review Hit Parade vocabulary.

Good luck to everyone else in the same situation! :)

It’s possible.
I took 3 SAT’s at a 1940-1980 range, and then in Dec, brought it up to a 2320.

GL!
