going out of country raise chances of admission??

I volunteered at a nursing home in India the summer of 2009 and this year I am going back to India to volunteer and raise funds for the nursing home again. I am also gonna intern at a medical center in India.
My unweighted gpa is a 3.7-3.8 and I will have taken 10-11 APs by the end of high school
JV Lacrosse and Varsity Lacrosse, Varsity Tennis, Treasurer of American Field Service club, working on publishing a novel, skipped a level at my dance school despite an arm disability I have had since birth (my teacher NEVER promotes people). I am a first generation college student. 2350 SAT. Interned at a local hospital last summer. Working on lining up two internships for the rest of the year this year. One at a cancer institute other at a radiology lab. Do I have chances for EARLY DECISION this upcoming fall? Will my out-of-country volunteering help me? ALSO: my grades have dramatically increase this year (my junior year)

This is just my opinion, but what is your reason for going overseas truthfully? I do not prefer this type of volunteering because there is so much one can do within the country. Unless you have some sort relation with another country.

Your stats are good and gpa could always be raised (if possible) but you need to find what is important to you and let that come through in your app.

That’s just my take. Maybe an admissions officer will be impressed if you show true interest. Or he or she will be skeptical, since volunteering overseas is not too rare.

I volunteer in my hometown in many places as well, however as India is my mother country, I volunteer there too
