Going to class before/after AP exam?

At my school it is optional to attend classes before/after your AP exam. This is my first time taking AP and was wondering what everyone thinks? I am kind of torn because I am taking 3 exams over the course of a week and don’t want to miss that much class time but at the same time feel like I’ll be burnt out! School makes us sign a release form so I gotta decide soon…

Classes usually don’t plan anything based off the fact that almost every AP student is going to ditch. That being said, i’m not the type of person to skip school no matter what, so I went and can verify that most classes do nothing - especially the class that you were taking the AP for. (The teacher knows you are mentally exhausted!). So, basically, go if you’re like me and just take a nap on the floor or something like I did. Or, just skip - it honestly won’t make a difference

Not uncommon.

I pretty much agree with @angelkitty. Personally, if I had an exams on say Mon a.m. /Tues a.m. /Thurs p,m, I would definitely skip my Monday afternoon classes to review for the Tuesday exam, but would probably not skip the Tuesday afternoon classes.

Also, talk to your teachers. If, for example, half your chem class will be taking the AP World History exam, the teacher is probably not going to spend much time on new material. However, if you’re the only one taking the AP Italian exam, then the chem teacher may proceed like it’s a normal day and you were just absent. In all cases, even if the school allows you to skip a class, you are still generally responsible for finding out what was missed and catching up.

Don’t go - it’s not worth it. None of the teachers ever do anything worth staying for. Last year I had exams Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and not one of those days did I actually attend class (nor did I show up at all on Thursday) and I didn’t miss a single thing. if they’re giving you the option to come or not, chances are its not worth it.

The only thing is I’m taking AP Macro/Micro and APCSP, only three kids in the school are taking CSP and about 20 kids out of 320 from my grade are taking Macro/Micro. Since so few kids are taking these exams I doubt my classes will be doing nothing which is why I’m concerned. Micro and CSP are afternoon exams while Macro is morning.

The month of May is intense with a lot of exams during the morning and afternoon each day. If i have a morning exam I usually go home after by having my mom sign me out early or if I have an afternoon exam I’ll have her take me to school late. If I come later on a day with an afternoon exam I usually spend the morning doing some late minute studying.

Most teachers are understanding that their students won’t be in their class most days because of the exams so they rarely give out work or complete any important lessons. They are also lenient if we are absent and they’ll let us turn in the work late.

Do it.

As well they all should be, if the administration does not require the students to be in class before/after an exam.

I think I’ll go home after my exams, haha thanks guys!
