going to cmu.. now what?

<p>actually, still deciding between NYU and CMU.</p>

<p>I haven’t visited… don’t know much about my school - HSS. carnegie mellon WAS one of my top choices but I just don’t know much…</p>

<p>i just wanted to ask a few questions, current cmu students please let me know what you think :D</p>

<li><p>How is the reputation of HSS at such a science-concentrated school?</p></li>
<li><p>How are the dorms, the bathrooms, the food, etc. you know, the basic necessities of life…lol.</p></li>
<li><p>is it easy to get internships and jobs related to your major? I’m undecided but I’m thinking about economics or international relations… also… if i choose economics and decide to go into business, will it be hard to switch into tepper? Is there a way I can stay in HSS AND go into Tepper?</p></li>

<p>the HSS is actually very decent at CMU. CMU as a whole is very well rounded and isn’t only good in computers. (e.g. arts programs is very good). The best way, however, to decide is to visit and see the desired department.</p>

<p>Agreed. You must visit, both schools you’re deciding from. I would bet that you will find all of your answers to questions there, and you will walk away know exactly which campus is the one for you. Such a difference, for most people it will be obvious. You want to go where you will be happy and fit in.</p>
