Going to College for the first time

Hello,

I am 25 and full time employed. I earn decently for my education (I only have a GED). I want to pursue a degree in the computer technology, electronics, or electrical engineering field but I am told by my wife I would be better off going to a community college and pursuing my liberal arts and transferring into another school after. I agree with her I am just wondering how many of my credits (if any) will transfer?

Please advise and thank you in advance

You’ll have to make sure you take classes that are part of the articulation agreement.
If you attend a NYS community college there are automatic equivalences for the SUNYs, and if you attend a NYC CC there are clear pathways to the 4-year CUNYs.
