Is it a bad idea to go to college with my best friend. I wanted to go to film school but only got into one school, meanwhile I got into a very good liberal arts school my friend and I applied too. I totally thought I would never get in, but we both did! Her with one of those 4.0 gpas and me repping a solid 3.6.
Both of our families think us going to college together would be awesome for us since we are attached at the hip and because its a better school than the rest I got into! My concern is going for friendship might not be as good a plan as following my passions? But also we could be the next Matt and Ben after four years, who knows.

We don’t really know anything about your relationship with your best friend (and so can’t say anything on that front) but if you really are as close as you say, then it’s definitely worth researching the liberal arts school’s film department and professors. Do they have a strong department? Interesting classes? See if you can arrange a meeting with a film prof there to talk about your options (the lib. arts school and the lower-caliber film school) and get his/her advice on what you should do purely from a career perspective.
