Going to King Abdullah University of a MS

Edit: *for an MS

I’ve wanted to get a PhD for a while, but I recently became intrigued by the prospect of going to King Abdullah University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for an MS in Computer Science with a focus on theory/AI before going on to a PhD program.

I’ve compiled a short list of pros and cons, and I want to know if anyone verify, add to or contradict them.

Pros:
Breathtaking campus
Nice weather
Admission = Fellowship that provides housing, stipend and travel expenses
See the World
Great faculty
Chance to get in on a great thing that’s still in its early stages
Chance to network globally

Cons:
Strange and foreign land far from home
Not sure how hard admissions are, but probably at least comparable to any top 10 program.
Not sure what campus culture in particular is, but I’m not optimistic about the babe and booze situation (being an engineering school is one thing, being an engineering school in Saudi Arabia…)
My parents would flip

Also take into account whether a degree from said school will be worth much in the country you wish to make your career in. I’m not sure how it is with engineering degrees, personally.
