Going to Las Vegas!

I’ve been several times, but looking for some new places to try for cool bars and restaurants. We’ve never been to Aria or Cosmopolitan. But there are so many it’s overwhelming. DH has only been once, and that was 15 years ago. One night we need to eat at The Venetian due to a show. Any advice on a beautiful setting there? Maybe sitting out overlooking the canal? I guess I want more chic atmosphere and popular venue rather than the best food.

Like I said…just overwhelmed with choices. Only there a few nights. I’d love you help!

No doubt you have searched restaurants at the Venetian/Palazzo but here is a listing: http://www.venetian.com/restaurants.html. I have not eaten at any of these except the Grand Luxe and it is just casual dining. I love Las Vegas! Have fun!

If you want an unforgettable view, try Top of the World restaurant.

Atmosphere wise, the buffets at the Paris and Wynn are probably the best. Food at the Paris is average though. Of the buffets I have visited, The Cosmo and Bellagio buffets have the best food.

I also like the MGM for their selection of restaurants on the ground floor. It’s a good option if you don’t feel like buffet food, and don’t know what type of food you are in the mood for.

I live in Las Vegas, and my son works at The Palazzo (sister property connected to The Venetian).

There are a zillion restaurants in the Venetian/Palazzo complex. Only two overlook the canal - Canaletto and Cañonita. They are both good enough restaurants, and not super expensive.

The St. Mark’s Square area also has a fun atmosphere. The restaurants there offer “outside” seating.

Cut is one of the best steakhouses in town. It is located in the waterfall atrium on the Palazzo side.

Table 10, Sushisamba, Morels, and Bouchon are all great, too. There is truly something for every taste and budget.

Double Helix, Lavo, and Laguna are all nice bars at The Venetian or Palazzo. Any would be good for a drink before or after your show.

Have a great time!

My favorite restaurant at the Venetian is Postrio – but I just checked the list and it’s not there, so it must have closed. Since all I ever ate there was the lobster sandwich, my recommendation wasn’t worth much, though.

I did see SushiSamba on the list (Brazilian and sushi). I’ve eaten there. Weird weird place, but they did have the best ramen I’ve ever had. It cost $18, and I ordered it entirely because it cost $18 and I couldn’t imagine how you could charge $18 for a bowl of noodle soup. It was amazingly good.

My husband is very fond of the steak frites at Bouchon.

Thanks all! I think I might have to go to Canaletto @LVKris . I was at the real St. Marks Square last fall, and maybe this will transport me back! Even just a little!
