Going to Med School from an Unknown School

Hey, next year I’m going to attend a local university that I know is very much unknown. I wanted to know how that would affect me in terms of medical school admissions. The school is really small and is mostly a commuter college. I’m in the honors program for entering freshman, but I’m still uncertain if I should go there. Many people tell me that undergraduate doesn’t matter for medical school (as in the institution which you attend doesn’t matter as long as your GPA and MCAT score are good). I don’t know how true that is considering this particular local university.

I suppose I could go to WashU, but I will most likely attend this local university…

Can we know what the school is?

bluedevilmike, I’ve already applied, I’ve only gotten an acceptance to WashU and the local school at the moment.

The local school is the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (not UA-Fayetteville)

I also got in to Vanderbilt…

Bump!..

I dont think that it has too much bearing. Just make sure ur gpa and MCAT is high.
