If I’m reading this correctly then it states that if I own real property and physically live there for twelve consecutive months I’ll become a Texas resident.</p>

<p>So that means I can own an apartment for twelve months my junior/senior year then I qualify for in state tuition for medical school?</p>

<p>Am I interpreting this correctly?</p>

<p>I think you would need to “own” the apartment or house…as in actually buy it, not rent it.</p>

<p>You should contact the medical school directly you are considering.</p>

<p>Rice is a private university, so tuition is the same, whether you are in or out of state. Residency only matters for state universities. Contact them for residency requirements.</p>
