Going to the same college as your sibling?

So has anyone ever experienced it? What was it like/Do the positives outweigh the negatives? My sibling is going to college this fall, and I will be going to college in the fall of 2011. I'm just sort of concerned about living in his shadow as I did a little in high school (although I suppose I didn't mind). Just wondering if anyone has had this experience?

I haven't experienced this yet but in a few weeks I'm starting school at Tulane with my twin brother. I was completely against going to school with him and had a lot of trouble making my college decision because I was so reluctant to admit that the school I wanted to go to was the school he had already chosen. I'm pre law and hes pre med so we are taking completely different classes and won't have any problems living in each others shadows most likely, but i really wanted to escape being known as a twin and i'm disappointed I won't have that opportunity. On the other hand, one of my really good friends really wanted to go to school with her older brother who was attending SUNY Geneseo. She didn't get into the school and was really disappointed but the school she actually is going to is probably a better match for her, which I think shes starting to see. Basically, my advice to you is to forget about your sibling completely when you make your decision. Choose the school thats best for you and if you end up at school with your sibling at least you have someone to tell you all the best teachers and dorms! =]
