Goldilocks college

Hi everyone! I need some help finding the perfect college. It has to be within 200 miles from Boston MA, have a business degree option, offer baseball as a sport ( D1, D2, or D3 all fine), be a small college with roughly 2000 student, be not too difficult to get into (3.4 gpa) while still having good acedemics, have a great campus, and be located in a safe area. For reference, I’ve looked at Clark university but the location was a little iffy, Skidmore college but the campus was a bit rundown, and Connecticut college which didn’t have a baseball team. If you have any ideas please help! Thanks!

Manhattan College might be a little further away, and larger (3000+ students) than you hoped for, but I know someone who received a baseball scholarship there and he seems happy. Is your GPA unweighted? If so, have you taken a rigorous courseload? How strong are your test scores? Drew, in Madison, NJ, has a baseball team and might satisfy other requirements, but it’s around 250 miles from Boston. Wheaton College has a men’s baseball team, though and might also be an excellent fit for you.

Have you run the super match search engine on this site?

I agree…use the Supermatch over on the left of this sight…also try the one on the College Board.
What are your SAT scores?

I don’t think the schools you mentioned have business majors. You didn’t give SAT/ACT scores so it is hard to gague but from what I know, I’d look into Bryant College, Siena College, Marist College, Quinnipiac U, Fairfield U.(some are slightly larger than your target school, but still very manageable). You can also check out Babson and Bentley as well but they may be reaches.

Just remember that if OP is a recruitable athlete, all constrains on admission can change and what would be an auto-reject for a non-athlete with the same stats suddenly becomes an admit possibility. You can’t be too far off the mark, OP is obviously not going qualify for Yale or Harvard, but they might have more available than your average person with a 3.4. But we’d need to know test scores and baseball ability.

Roger Williams in Bristol, RI? a little bigger (3800) but a beautiful campus on the water in RI, Bristol is a great little town between Newport and Providence, has a business school, my son got in with 3.3 gpa and was offered merit money, has a baseball team.

Babson

Wheaton College in Norton MA.

are you capable of playing DI, DII, or DIII baseball, or are you just a huge college baseball fan?

are there any coaches chasing you for ball?

If a sports scholarship is not to be part of the equation, how are you going to pay for college? have you run the net price calculator at each school? what have your parents offered you each year?

I am ignorant in College BaseBall, but is there a D1 or D2 base ball school which has only 2000 students and NEAR Boston? That is what the OP is asking. If not, why we have this sport scholarship discussions in the first place?

OP writes: “It has to…offer baseball as a sport ( D1, D2, or D3 all fine).”

What’s not clear to you, @artloversplus? We don’t know whether he’s looking for a school at which he can play baseball or watch it. If it is to play baseball, then we need to know if he intends to use his ability to play baseball to help him get in. We also don’t know if the OP is looking for a sports scholarship to help pay for college. Capisci?

What I know is that a D3 sports school does not give scholarships for sports. So even if OP can play D3 basedball, discussing sports scholarships is a moot issue. Yes, the coaches will push him into admission but not scholarships.

Sorry. I read over my reply and it was too flippant, @artloversplus. scusi, per favore.

Hey! I’m a student here at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. What’s great about Marist is that we have a D1 baseball team and a great business program. Marist College has received a business award which is given to the top 5% of business schools. We also offer a lot of hands on classes, experiences and internships with the top companies in the world!.
