  1. Worked on a developing a system for MS diagnostics (2 years of research): no publication but placed at a state level competition.
    (College):
  2. Novel research in biomedical engineering with polymers (Nature Methods publication).
    (2-3 years of research)

I desire to do an MD/PhD. How much should this affect my chances? How are my chances?

MD/PhD will hurt you. The bar is higher. The foundation basically says “prove that you’re actually going research track” if you list MD/PhD (MD only will not be awarded at all).

Your chances are about the same as everyone else’s: low.
