Gonna' wing it..

Okay, so I’ve decided to totally wing the ACT. It’s end of the school year, people are switching to summer clothes, the heat is coming on in, seniors are excited and everyone is over school in general.

But I still have to worry about the ACT. But not anymore, because I choose to relax and wing it. I know it’s no excuse to do such, and I should be studying, but I think officially scheduling a test in mid-June is not good planning. But that’s just my summer-y mood’s opinion.

Luckily, I don’t have to send both ACT scores, so I’ll re-take in September. The reason I want to relax now through next week is because after next week, I begin serious independent study time, volunteering, and lots and lots of prep.

I’m gonna wing it and see how I do.

Anyone else doing the same?

(Just a note- Just because I’m going to wing it, it doesn’t mean I’m an irresponsible person XD. I’m just…worn out -___- )

im not winging it, but i’m not stressing out about it. i still have the fall date. thank god the act doesnt automatically send the scores like cb. (curse that horrid monopoly)

I think it’s kind of funny that people put so much effort into prepping for the test. It kind of defeats the purpose the test was developed for.

Ya, my son rolled out of bed with zero prep and composited a 34. Forcing him to study and prep may have actually given him an anxiety attack and he could have done worse. I like your approach.

All I did was take practice writing and math, and both were easy.

Since the practice test seemed a breeze, I hope the real ACT is too. I used the official ACT book, but I don’t know how accurate that is.

I’m just a little worried about time, since I heard people run out of time often.

Yeah, but everyone knows that contrary what the test-makers say, one can totally prep for the ACT/SAT (SAT especially!). And sadly enough, it helps.

I wouldn’t worry about it though. Because the ACT is correlated with family income and parent education level, if your parents have Ph.D’s, you should be fine. (But seriously, if you’re a decent student and paid attention in math and English, you’ll be fine. Just by being on CC, you’re already part of the high-achievers on these tests.)

^^^ finally someone who has some sense!!!

I winged it in February and got a 31. I’m retaking though in October after I prep =]

Oh. I have no doubt that it works. I’m not discounting that. I just wonder if that’s what they had in mind when the tests were developed.

Winged it the first time and got a 26. I’m going to wing it again and hopefully get a 27-28. I probably should study, but…eh. Did the same thing with the SAT (May/June) and definently improved my Math and Writing (CR not so much). We shall see how it goes. Can’t wait for June 25th and 26th.

Studied for a week and a half for the last one, and got a 31

I think I am going to use will power to raise it (please please please), all i need is a 33.

I am not going to study at all, I just can’t wait to smoke that first summer bowl

good luck bros

I’m still trying to finish up one of my online classes, so I haven’t had any time to study. I’m not going to improve much (if at all), but whatever. I still have September and October to get that 33+.

Well, here’s the way I think of it. I’ll work hard and study for just this one, and then if I score high enough, I can relax the rest of the summer and not worry about taking the ACT or SAT reasoning again Personally, that would make my summer way better. Of course, I would have to wait til my scores come in, but I’ll put myself in the mental state that I won’t have to take it again.
