<p>I am interested in doing pre-med at cornell, and I’m leaning towards CAS because it offers more flexibility and variety in course selections. The problem is that one of my SAT II scores is low, and I know CAS requires SAT IIs. I have a 34 ACT (36 Math 36 Reading )and 770 History SAT II, but I managed to get 690 on the Math 2 SAT subject test. Would I still be competitive for admission if I had solid extra curriculars? Or, should I apply to CALS witch does NOT require Sat IIs? thanks in advance.</p>
<p>You can apply to CAS with CALS as a backup. It is called Primary/Alternate choice. In my opinion, though, you should make your choice based on which college is a better fit for you based on the majors that they offer, and not which will look at SATIIs or not. Cornell does look at how well you fit in with the college you selected when looking at your application (essays in particular), an take it into account. Your ACT is beyond awesome, so as long as your GPA, essays, ECs, etc., etc. are fine I don’t think the SAT2s will be an issue.</p>
