<p>Interesting. A little heavy with suggestions from the Container Store, but gives some good advice.</p>
<p>Some good ideas. Worth reading. Of course students need to check with their school to see which items are provided and which are forbidden. The list of sundries is good to consider (first aid supplies et al).</p>
<p>I appreciate the sentiment behind posting this link, but I felt that the article was way overkill. It made me feel claustrophobic. I think the key is to cull possessions down to essentials, and NOT to clutter up limited space with yet more junk – even junk in the name of “organization.” </p>
<p>I thought the article was overkill, also. Did I see two coffeemakers on that shelving unit over the fridge? </p>
<p>I like the over-the-door idea, and the desk and fridge hutch ideas. Using vertical space is always smart in small spaces. </p>

<p>I could not agree more. Not culling through clutter, and then buying junk from the container store to organize it, isn’t “organization.” It’</p>
<p>The problem with the over-the-door racks, in my experience, is that the stuff falls over every time the door opens and closes. It’s fine for shoes, but most of the stuff they have pictured isn’t going to stay in place when that door stats swinging. And you have to actually get all those storage items to the dorm room and bring them home again!! Lol! </p>
<p>D uses a three shelf wire rack. $20 at Target. Fridge on top, micro on top of fridge. The other two shelves have fabric bins to hold food and cleaning supplies. A set of narrow plastic drawers hold everything else that doesn’t fit in the closet.</p>
