I’m a junior in high school and I want to go into biomedical engineering. I will apply to Northwestern and Purdue. I might also apply to Vanderbilt. Northwestern and Vanderbilt are reach schools for me while Purdue is a safety/match. I want one or two more good biomedical engineering schools to apply to as safety schools just in case I don’t get into any of the ones I already listed. I live in northern Indiana and I don’t want to go TOO far away, but I’m willing to go up to 7 or 8 hours away to college if I have to. I would prefer that the schools are ABET accredited and have decent financial aid. Thanks!
Let’s define what you mean by FA. Is your family low income? Then good FA is what you’re looking for. If not then you mean merit aid. Good merit aid can be found at Alabama for OOS students. Ohio State has some good merit which is getting more competitive. Good call on the ABET accreditation but you know you can look that list up yourself, right?
Here is a list of schools that offer BME for bachelor, masters and doctorate. (http://www.findengineeringschools.org/Search/Majors/biomedical.htm) Not sure about the reliability but scan through that list to see what schools could be matches or safeties for you. University of Alabama is very good for merit aid, but any of the schools in Indiana may be good choices for you.
Rutgers, Penn St., UMich, UIllinois.
