<p>Hi! I’m a high school junior from the Philippines and I plan on going to college in the States. My mom would only allow me to study in a college around 1-3 hours away from L.A. because we have family members living there. I hardly know anything about the schools there but after checking collegeboard.com, these are the schools that I’m considering:
USC (first choice)
University of California: Riverside
CSULA
Chapman University
Loyola Marymount University
Azusa Pacific University
University of San Diego</p>
<p>It would be better if the college offered international financial aid but it isn’t one of my priorities. I’m also taking the SATs this June. I took the PSAT last October which I didn’t prepare for and I got 181. 70 in Math (I forgot to bring a calculator) and 55 in Critical Reading and 56 in Writing.</p>
<p>Of all the schools you listed, Azusa Pacific is the only one not accredited by AACSB. I would advise against attending there. The private colleges on your list, with the exception of Azusa Pacific, are USC, Chapman, Loyola Marymount & U. of San Diego. If cost is a factor, all have tuitions of about $30,000+ a year. </p>
<p>The tuition for CSULA is only about $3,000/yr. and UC Riverside is only about $7,000, both of which are public colleges. Both have pretty good business programs for the cost. USC is by far, the most competitive school on your list. Your PSAT scores, with the exception of math, appear average, if not mistaken. You’ll most likely need a relatively high SAT score to get into USC, which is one of the best universities in the US.</p>
<p>I should add that the tuition for CSULA and UC Riverside are for California residents. If you are not a California resident you’ll be paying tuition of about 12K for CSULA and 25K for UC Riverside.</p>
