I’m a foreign senior student (Asian) who is going to apply to US Colleges this year. My intended majors are Finance and Math (maybe Computer Science as another major or minor). I’ll just briefly state my stats:
SAT I:2160 (M:800, CR:640, W:720)
SAT II: Math II: +750 (hopefully), Chemistry: +700 (hopefully)
GPA: 9.0/10, good score, not excellent though.
Solid ECs, Recs, and Essays.
I have some questions in mind, so I hope anyone with the knowledge and familiarity can help clarify. Also, I seek some other suggestions, as this is the primary purpose of my opening this thread. Any comment is welcome. Thanks all.
Are Carroll School - BC and Stern School - NYU relatively comparable with Wharton School? I hope to have some insight and comparison among these three top schools; however, currently I’m thinking of ED to Wharton.
Considering my credentials, should I do better than Ohio Wesleyan University and University of Alabama? (no offense to any of these school lovers, as I can also imagine myself being there, both!) How are the business programs there?
How prestigious is Binghamton SUNY - School of Management? What are some business programs that share the same league with this school, and why is this school usually not well-regarded on CC?

@lhtanh98 BC has a top business school. You should also look into Villanova, Fordham, Bucknell, Indiana and Lehigh. Your stats may keep you out of the first tier like Notre Dame, Wharton, Cornell, NYU and maybe even BC.
Do you need financial aid? This will impact your list considerably.
For a safety, you may like SUNY Geneseo (AACSB accredited) better in terms of campus and environment than Binghamton, but yes Binghamton’s Business school is pretty strong. (See film “the rewrite” for campus views).
Thanks everyone! @MYOS1634 and @happy1: Although I do need FA (contribution about 25k-30k), I am willing to full pay Wharton and Stern. I wonder if Carroll is that good to stretch a little bit for full pay, as the school doesn’t offer FA.
@AStern: I know my stats is a little big below average for top tier school. Just retook SAT on Ont 3rd. But anyway, thanks for the suggestions. I’ll sure look into those schools.

I would consider Stern to be above Carroll. Your expected contribution will hurt you - it’s quite likely you won’t get sufficient financial aid at both. Wharton is a reach obviously.
Definitely consider UAlabama, UMiami (Farmer), and Temple, as all three have excellent business schools and scholarships that would make them within budget for your parents. SUNY Geneseo is another one to consider alongside Binghamton and Albany (although Albany is dedicated to business, it’s also less rigorous academically than either Bing or Geneseo).
You can look into NCSU and UNC-Wilmington, Wake Forest, Fordham, Baruch, Dickinson (international management + math + Asian language or cs?), American, Hamilton.
It’s surprising and interesting how you compile a list of school that I might be interested in, @MYOS1634! Among those schools, 3 are already on my list (Hamilton, Dickinson, and Fordham).
Anyway, do you think I would have a decent shot at Wake Forest (match, with FA), and at Stern or Carroll (without asking for FA)?
Irrelevant, you are from North Carolina, aren’t you? Excuse me if i’m wrong, just wild guess. You seem to be very familiar with schools in NC!
Ohio Wesleyan University overall is an excellent college. I am not familiar with the details of the business/economics program, but the sciences at OWU are rigorous.
@AStern uh thanks a lot but how do you define" a very good business school"? Because basically I found everyone could say XXX school has very good business programs… Do fordham students get internships in NYC or go to top graduate school?
@LakeWashington cannot be more agreeable. I just wonder if there are better schools (prestige-wise, sorry, I’m Asian) that I can get into. Other than that, I can really imagine myself going to OWU, and therefore wouldn’t be so crushed if all the top-tier schools reject me.

If you may, would you help me a little with the comparison among Dyson of Cornell, Wharton of UPenn, and Stern of NYU? I’m still hopelessly choosing my ED choice by Nov.
Fordham does have a real campus at Rose Hill. (Lincoln doesn’t).
Since your forte is math (and I suppose you have evidence of that on your application), I’d go with ED Wharton. They’re very quantitative and love kids who are math-talented. In addition, they have the means to offer you suffificient financial aid if they so choose. I think NYU has ED2 so if you’re rejected from Wharton you could still apply to NYU (while applying to all other colleges and keeping your fingers crossed. Note that if admitted but without a good enough financial aid package, you can turn down NYU, which is the only situation where you’re allowed to turn them down.)

You see, that’s why in the U.S.A., we still believe that creativity, ambition and talent drives success, despite any false and lingering notions of “prestige” and privilege. Hey, OWU alumni include two widely known and admired Americans of the 20th Century (Branch Rickey, Norman Vincent Peale) and a Vice President of the United States! That’s more “prestige” than 95% of the colleges in the U.S.
