“not smart enough”??? Really–c’mom. Be kinder to yourself than that. The average CGS stats are still way above averages in the US and its a chance for kids that may not test so well, are late bloomers, or perhaps focused too much on their social life or activities in HS to get a chance to refocus on academics. You’ll still need to be “good enough” to make it through the last two yrs in a regular BU program. This month’s BU home mailing has a few notable alumnus stories and you can see CGS grads are also Law School grads, etc. so obviously many students take advantage of the system CGS offers. Any kids that “look down” on another because their SAT scores were 100 points lower isn’t worth impressing especially if their additional points were “earned” via numerous test sittings and private tutoring. College is what you make it. There are tons of UNI kids that are remarkable and gifted academically and yet they chose BU over Harvard type schools so choose friends with the right attitude and ignore the others.
