<p>Maybe not as far as you’d like, but U Wiss- Madison would be instate costs for you (reciprocity agreement with MN).</p>
<p>Virginia Tech -$31,000 and you have other options than majoring in Engineering. There are other strong programs, so don’t rule it out if you don’t plan to be an engineer. </p>
<p>Ohio University $28,000 yr. (if your SAT’s are over 2100, and you have at least a 3.0, then you get instate rates through their Gateway scholarship, bringing costs to about $18,000 yr.)</p>

<p>Now having some stats, you can eliminate most of the schools I suggested with the exception of Flagler U. You may be able to get into Ohio U., but would not receive merit aid, so full pay OOS ($29,000 yr.). You could look at Arizona State, U of Arizona, George Mason U., Christopher Newport U, Temple U., and U of Cincinnati. These are all right around $27-30,000 yr. OOS.</p>
<p>Once you go “away from your family”, you aren’t likely to visit home other than during holidays, and you can plan your summers to have internships/work away. I doubt that your family will be stopping into visit you other than the designated “family weekend” in the fall. Don’t rule out your state schools(!), or other states where MN has reciprocity tuition agreements. </p>
