Civil Engr. Internships that offers good pay and maybe a travel allowance, etc.?
any type of civil engr. is fine but I want to find something in structural engr.

The civil engineering internships that I know of tend to hire locally so they don’t have travel allowances. There are enough firms out there that you don’t have to travel very far to find one.

Pay is something to take more into consideration when you’re looking for a full-time job. Right now, you want to work for a good company that will provide you with good experience, so it sets you up well when you’re looking for that first job. That may or may not necessarily be the best paying internship.

I work as a structural engineer for a global transportation consulting firm: [Parsons Brinckerhoff](http://www.pbworld.com/)

We use interns frequently for bridge inspection under the supervision of an experienced graduate engineer (team leader). I agree with Ken that most internships are local hires.
