Good Colleges for Me?

What are some good colleges for me? I hope to either major in biomedical engineering or get a major that would help my chances for a MD/PhD program. Right now i think I’m leaning more towards BME but I want to leave the other option open as well.

Stats:
GPA: 4.395 weighted (I dont know unweighted but I’ve only gotten 2 A- in high school, rest were As)
SAT: 2330 (800 Math, 800 Reading, 730 Writing with 10 essay)
ACT: 35 (35 english, 36 math, 34 reading, 35 science) (Might retake and go for the 36 :p)

AP Classes taken:

AP Chemistry (Sophomore Year; 5),
AP Calculus BC (Sophomore year; 5),
AP United States History (Sophomore year; 5),
AP English Language (Junior Year; waiting for result),
AP United States Government (junior year; waiting),
AP Statistics (Junior Year; waiting),
AP Physics C: Mechanics (Junior year; waiting),
AP Physics C: E&M (Junior year; waiting)

Senior year classes: AP Biology, AP English Literature, taking college classes at Ohio State.

Extracurricular:

Volunteering (150 hours)
Quiz Team: Co president; varsity; made nationals last year
Model United Nations: Secretary; perfect resolution score
Science Olympiad: Varsity; placed top ten in 2 events; Co president
Violin: Played violin since 6th grade; in school’s chamber orchestra; accepted into Central Ohio Regional Orchestra 2 years in a row
Piano
Internship with Materials Science professor at Ohio State for two summers
Summer program that has rigorous curriculum in medicine, biology, and chemistry. Its called Mechanisms of Human Health and Disease

Your competitive for just about any school, but matches will be reaches due to a low acceptance %age. What can your family afford? Have you taken additional math since Calc BC? If so going to a U rather than a LAC may be best. tOSU would of course be a safety if you can afford it (with whatever merit aid they’ll give you). Since you want to do an MD keep your undergrad costs low.

I think your matches are going to be just under the ivy/near ivies. The ECs aren’t sufficiently eye-grabbing to feel confidence about any of the ivies except perhaps Cornell. You match at WashU, Berkeley, Michigan, JHU, UCLA, UNC, Duke, Emory, Rice, USC, etc.

What’s missing in this equation is what you can afford. Run the net price calculators. There’s no other way to tell if your family has any chance of paying for these schools. No sense in applying some place you cannot afford.

probably one of the best all around schools for student happiness, academics , setting etc…(IMO)

not one but two early admit programs. that is awesome.

@Erin’s Dad: I took calc bc my sophomore year, took AP Stats junior year, and my senior year, I am going to take Accelerated Math II for Honors Engineers at Ohio State. With regards to price, I think I have a solid chance at some decent FA but I have to see what the price calculators tell me.
