Not quite the sea, but still a good deed indeed:

Amazing.

Two Australian Navy ships – HMAS Arunta and HMAS Canberra – answered calls for help, as well as Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Hercules aircraft, according to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

The ships, along with a nearby merchant vessel, monitored the yacht’s location overnight, and the rescue resumed in the early hours of the morning, when conditions had eased.

Not a human rescue, but pretty amazing.

“The dogs’ endurance and strength surpass those of most humans.

Newfoundland dogs are able to swim for three nautical miles (5.6 km) and tow life rafts weighing up to three metric tons or carrying six people, while Labradors can drag 2.4 tons and use their acute sense of smell to locate missing people.“

“He lived to tell the tale because good Samaritans pulled him from the water, Sea Girt lifeguards resuscitated him, and an intrepid team at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune repaired his two fractured vertebrae.”

Not at sea, but a reminder with flooding roads- turn around, don’t drown.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. - The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Marine Unit, with the assistance of the Aviation Section, rescued 13 people from a damaged boat.

On Saturday, November 9th, around 5:30 PM, HCSO received a distress call regarding a boat in distress with multiple passengers. The Aviation Unit guided the Marine Unit to the location of the vessel, which was damaged and taking on water.

Three passengers had been ejected from the boat due to a large wave but were rescued by a Good Samaritan before the arrival of authorities.

The remaining passengers were safely evacuated by the Marine Unit and transported to Harborage Marina, where they were met by emergency medical services.
