My brother and I are both seniors in high school and are in the process of applying to UCF. We live in New Jersey. Throughout high school we have taken many honors classes and 2 AP Classes, AP Calc and AP US History(Both this year as our school doesn’t offer much). Also, we took 3 years of a language(Spanish). I am ranked 8th in the class and my brother is ranked 9th. There is about 100 kids in the senior class(small school). On the SAT I got a 500 in Math, 530 in Reading, and a 550 in writing. He got a 490 in Math, a 470 in Reading, and a 480 in Writing. We are also getting 3 recommendation letters from various teachers and a counselor recommendation as well. Our GPA is a 95, I believe that’s a 3.9 or so on a 4.0 GPA scale. We didn’t do anything outside of school, besides 4 years of work experience. We plan to major in a form of engineering.
What are the chances of us being accepted?

What do you guys think?

Here are some admissions statistics. It looks like you’re below the mean of the freshman class. That being said, they didn’t give the standard deviation, so maybe you do have a shot.

[Facts About UCF](http://www.iroffice.ucf.edu/character/current.html)

Average SAT Critical Reading: 609
Average SAT Math: 627
Average SAT Writing: 577
Average H.S. GPA: 3.82

I saw that but, I looked on collegeboard and the scores are lower
I’m not sure what ones are correct.

They’re probably from two different years, meaning either one could be correct for this year.

Out of curiosity, why UCF if you live in New Jersey? You know these schools cost a lot more for out of state students.

Actually UCF is only about $28,000 per year. Rutgers is roughly the same price as well.

The town I live in basically sucks, it’s a really bad small town. No one really cares about anything and the kids are so bad… So I want to go far away from them. I want to venture out of New Jersey. Plus, I have family friends that aren’t too far from Florida and the education is really good too and the campus is beautiful (just visited UCF 3 weeks ago)

I like your chances…SATs are a little low but while UCF is a solid school, it isn’t super selective. I’d say you are probably in. Good luck! Chance back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1201569-chances-senior-will-chance-back.html

Hopefully I can increase my SAT scores so I’ll have a better change
thanks :)

Did you guys hear back yet? And what term did you apply for (summer, fall or spring)?
