Good journalism programs?

I’m looking for colleges with good (undergrad) journalism programs. You can view my stats here but generally I’m looking for a college with a 50-65% acceptance rate. I’m slightly picky about the location, though. I need to be in close proximity to a major city.

Cities I’m most enthused about being near (I’m open to more if the college is really something special):

Boston
D.C.
Chicago
San Francisco
Seattle
New York (would only go to Fordham, which is the best I could get into)

I’m not looking for the cream of the crop programs such as Mizzou, Northwestern, Ohio, etc. I just want suggestions for a solid program in an area with great internship opportunities. I’m from the south and don’t want to go to college here. The only college I would go to down here is University of Georgia. I’m okay with Florida.

And honestly, I’m not as picky as I sound.

Ah, I hate CC’s editing time limits. I said at the top that I’m slightly picky, and at the bottom said that I’m not as picky as I sound. I guess what I’m saying is that I’m picky when it comes to the general areas I want, perhaps not specific cities/metro areas.

American and Boston University.

USC has a fairly good journalism program (:

I don’t think I could get into USC. :(

Does anyone know anything about CSU - Long Beach?

Also, how are:

University of Virginia
University of Florida
University of Oregon
University of Washington

University of Miami
University of San Francisco
Rollins

??
