So I’ve started up my list of colleges I want to apply to, and in terms of difficultly of gaining admission, I was looking for colleges that are still high caliber, but a bit easier to get into than HYPSMCaltech etc. I’m looking to study engineering. Looking at places like Duke and Vandy. Any suggestions?

High Caliber is not necessarily correlated to low acceptance rates.

What is your GPA and test scores?
You might want to look at Carnegie Mellon.

I am also looking at similar colleges, and one is University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. It has a highly rated engineering program that is definitely less selective than HYPSM. Cost might be a concern for OOS as I heard they do not offer much financial aid at all to OOS students, but it is definitely somewhere to consider!

@Ctesiphon Sorry, forgot to mention stats! 2350 SAT and 4.0 UW GPA. Essentially, competitive applicant academically but I definitely don’t want to only apply to the top top schools.

Thanks for the suggestions so far!!
