Hi, I’m going to be a freshmen majoring in computer science and I need help finding a laptop. I’m open for anything except my price range is under $1000.

Toshiba Satelitte

Computer science does not require a powerful laptop. A netbook is more than sufficient. Get whatever you want, whether that is a Macbook Air or a desktop replacement gamer laptop.

Run Visual Studio 2010 or Eclipse on a netbook? brrrrr.

MacBook Air should make a nice development machine actually… With enough memory, a nice SSD, etc…
