Good mid-level colleges for me

I would like to go to a college in the tri-state are of New Jersey. I would like to get a good deal of money for college, but I don’t know which colleges to look at since all the colleges I’ve been looking at are upper level and therefore stingy. Here are some things about me:

-2080 on the sat
-4.36 weighted gpa
-run varsity xc and track

What are some colleges that I could get into and get a good deal of money for, which are still considered respectable colleges. I’ve already looked at all the new jersey state schools.

The Tri-State area is not a great area for large merit that would leave you with a modest amount to pay.

would like to get a good deal of money for college,

what is your M +CR SAT? That is what merit is based on by most schools.

What is your major?

How much will your family pay each year? That needs to be known so that you’ll know how much merit you’d need.

For instance, if your family can only contribute $10k per year, then getting a half tuition scholarship wouldn’t be enough…right?

If your parents can contribute $10k per year, and you can take out a $5k student loan, then a full tuition scholarship would allow your $15k to pay for room, board, books, etc.

You can look at the SUNY schools as well which are very affordable for OOS students. In general, get your hands on some college guide books (I like Fiske and Princeton Review but there are a lot of them) and seek out schools where your GPA and standardized tests are well above the norm – there should be a ton of choices which you can weed through based on your personal preferences.
