Good Minor for Stats Major

UCLA recommends a minor for students who are majoring in statistics. For the stats majors out there, what would be a good minor?

I’ve considered accounting but it seems really intensive, and I’m not that interested in it. Econ/polisci minors are unavailable.

I’ve also considered Education, since I want to eventually be a college professor, but it isn’t that related to statistics. I want a career in statistics before starting to teach.

If you want to be a college professor, you should take at least enough math to minor in it.

You could definitely do a math major… or a math minor…

[UCLA Department of Mathematics](<a href=“Undergraduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics”>Undergraduate Program | UCLA Department of Mathematics)

Almost the same prereqs as a Stats major.

I’m pretty sure that you can take major-related classes that will fulfill both your major and minor at the same time.

This may be unorthodox, but how about English?

You’ll get practice in careful reading and clear writing. It’s a useful skill in business and academia.

^second that. Minor in something that trains the other part of your brain. Try social science (Poli Sci, Sociology, Econ, Anthro)
