I had to share…can’t resist…please forgive.

My d was just selected as a member of the Freshmen Council at UNC-CH! They started with about 250 applicants; and she didn’t really have high hopes because they only take 10 into the Council. But she kept making it through each cut…and she was just notified she is one of the ten!

(How she’ll have time for all of this I don’t know; but I’m so proud of her! She didn’t even tell us she had applied until she’d made it through the first interview.)

Thank you all! I do think she’s pretty special, but I’m biased to a fault. The girl does kick butt in an interview though…always has been a good communicator. Until high school, all that ‘communicating’ used to get her into a bit of trouble, but now, finally, it’s paying off…lol!

Thank you berurah and churchmom! It IS such a relief to see your child ‘make it on her own’ (to quote MTM…lol!). Especially after a stressful year of college searches/applications that culminated with us depositing her, completely alone, on a campus 1200 miles from home. There is pride in the accomplishment, but even more sweet is the relief that she is doing okay and making a life…

Brag on, brag on! Congratulations to your Tarheel daughter - making the final cut from a starting list of 250!!! That is especially impressive. She apparently has what it takes! CCers love to hear such wonderful news!
