Good place for Easter dinner in Charlottesville?

We are in the middle of our spring break college visit trip and we’re in Charlottesville for the weekend. We plan to visit Monticello tomorrow before the Monday info session and tour at UVA. We’d also like to go to a nice restaurant for dinner but we really don’t know anything about the city. Any recommendations for something not too terribly expensive but a step or two up from the usual chain restaurants?

For something different you can try a colonial style dinner at the old tavern near Monticello–Mitchie I think. But it might be booked for Easter. Thai 99 is very good for that kind of food.

Barrons- Michie’s Tavern looks great! I looked it up on the internet and found some brochures here at the hotel. It sounds perfect - thanks!

Enjoy the trip. I’ll be back there myself next weekend.

The Boar’s Head Inn is supposed to have a good restaurant. Also check out the Hardward Store Restaurant. It is located at the downtown mall and has a candy shop inside the restaurant.

I’d check out the downtown mall and I second barrons’ recommendation of Thai 99. You should have no trouble finding a nice dinner.

Thanks, all. We’re not Thai food fans, but the other suggestions all sound good. :)
