I wanted to give you my stats so you know potentially what colleges are in my range (I am expecting to improve my SAT/ACT a good amount). I am looking for some strong Pre-Med programs that would set me up good for medical school. My major will probably be Biology. Basically, I am trying to get some good suggestions of colleges that have good Pre-med programs that are within my range of getting into. I would just love to here some suggestions you guys have and why you think the program is great for setting students up for medical school. Thank you very much for your help!

Both threads have wonderful advice about picking a college.

And here’s a nugget of wisdom for you: Your undergrad doesn’t get you into med school; you get you into med school.

Meaning, all 4 year colleges in the US teach the basic material you’ll need for the MCAT. But it’s up to you to prepare for the MCAT, get high grades in the required pre-med classes, and acquire the necessary ECs and LORs you’ll need to apply. No pre med program will do that for you.

If you look at the accepted students’ page at various medical schools, you will see students from every possible kind of college: Ivies, huge state flagships, state directional Us, tiny LACs, and I-never-heard-of-it Colleges.

Pick a school that offers you the best combination of fit, affordability and opportunity.

Thank you so much. I read both of those threads, great advice. I really needed to hear this. I can’t thank you enough
