Good Quality and Affordable! Messenger Bag?!

I have already seen and read through the other thread about messenger bags but…all the ones listed are expensive.

I’m an incoming freshman with mostly art classes as I am a graphic design major. I used a Gap messenger bag all throughout high school senior year and I must say that I like it better than a backpack. The Gap messenger bag I used was a hand-me-down from my older sister - so it’s pretty old and I don’t know how much it cost at the time. The only reason why I’m not going to continue using it in college is because there’s already a few tears and not as many compartments as I’d like.

I would prefer a size that just about fits a folder horizontally - so length > height. With some width, too, of course :)

Any suggestions? Price range: under $35 (maybe 40, depends if I really like it).

Well you might have to pay a bit more to get a good bag, but I know I’d recommend using zappos–free, fast shipping and free returns

You should get a Patagonia bagggg. But they’re pricey.

I just picked up one from Urban Outfitters. It was maybe $40.

I find that the stomach of a pig works well.

I got a Kipling messenger bag from TJ Maxx for $40. It’s pretty high quality and came with a extra laptop case. Patagonia is pretty good too.
Cost was a big thing for me when looking for a good backpack, but eventually I had to splurge on a $75 bag from North Face.
I’m gonna keep it for at least 4+ years so 75/4= $18 per year. Great quality so it’s worth it to me!
