Due to personal family problems I had to leave school in the middle of my junior year and move to nyc with my mom. We’re moving back to Miami pretty soon. I haven’t been to school in almost 2 months- I’ll be re-doing 11th grade next year.I had a choice GED and straight to college or two more years of high school. After much deliberation I chose high school . Does this schedule seem alright? I originally had 4 APs, but this new school doesn’t offer AP 2-D Art.
Here it is: Schedule

I added Dual Enrollment courses and my senior year subject selection results. Does it seem okay or is it too much? I received pretty good grades in all my classes so doing them over shouldn’t be much work since I still study from home while learning the dance from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

How many classes does one typically take at your school? Just curious…

Usually six. 4 core 2 electives. I get 3 electives Junior year and 4 senior year.

So you’ll be taking nine classes at one time? That seems like a lot to me…

That’s what I was thinking. I don’t know if my mom will approve of so many even if I’ve already taken most of them. I can probably cut out my three electives and replace them with the DE courses, but I’d have to talk to my new school about it.

Here’s what I’d suggest: take out the extra dual stuff like world religions, literature, and business stuff. The business classes you’ll take in college will probably be better and your world religions class will probably end up being an “easier” class you’ll take in college. No need to take it now. Keep your Japanese classes because you’re obviously passionate about learning the language and by taking it now, you can take higher classes in college. You’re also obviously into art, so keep that too, but limit it.
