What are some good California schools for physics, preferably applied or engineering physics. So far I know about Stanford but I can’t seem to find any other schools that really stand out. Any suggestions?

Caltech. certainly an equal to stanford, but i’ve heard its more theoretical

UCSB has an outstanding physics department. Take a look at their College of Creative Studies program [College of Creative Studies, UC Santa Barbara - Physics - Home](http://www.ccs.ucsb.edu/physics/)

Thanks for the information. I’ve added Caltech to my list (definite reach) and will look into UC Santa Barbara :)
