I want to major in music industry (and dabble in performance and composition) as well as potentially do a semester abroad in Japan. I am currently a student at a community college in California but I don’t have my heart set on transferring to a UC or CSU. Finances aren’t an issue either and I’m not concerned about staying in California. The school I’m currently focusing on is Northeastern in Boston because it has a music industry major with some performance classes and it has (from my understanding) a really strong study abroad program, but I’m also looking at NEU because of it’s co-op program which is really enticing. So I’m wondering what schools besides NEU I should be considering for a music industry program with a really strong study abroad program. Also relatively easy to transfer to is preferred but not a must.
NEU is a good first choice. I’d also look at Drexel, as it is the other major co-op school with a MI major. However, not sure about its study abroad program in Japan…
Not sure about ease of transferring in, but Syracuse has an MI program and its Study Abroad is one of the most extensive. American U has a business and entertainment concentration in its business school, but it focuses more on industry and less on performance and composition (however, they have a world class audio technology program where you can get some creative out).
