Good Schools with No EC's?

I unfortunately have only a few ECs:
However, my test scores, grades, and course rigor are all top notch. For all of HS I havent really been very committed to ECs or anything because I just assumed I would be attending my state school where you can get a fullride with little effort. However, now that I have done a college visit and talked to people there, I can tell that it really is not for me. I am looking for an intellectual and very liberal atmosphere, at a school with a good repuatation.

Which colleges would you recommend to me? Contrary to what my choice of courses and ECs suggests, I dont want to attend an overly technical college like Mudd or something. I have other interests as well.

If you want to come East, Vassar or Wesleyan could be a nice fit.

You left off a piece of important info: what can your family afford? Do you know what your EFC is?

Finances aren’t much of a problem for me.

A few recommendations that are worth visiting/investigating:

-Duke
-Johns Hopkins (very strong in biological and medical sciences, if that’s your thing)
-WUSTL
-Cornell
-Penn
-Rice

Seriously? You had a summer experience in a research lab, you shadowed a physician, and have leadership positions in several substantial organizations. Is that what’s considered “No ECs” nowadays? Your ECs seem solid.

wow. How encouraging! I really didn’t think my app is all too good. Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll definitely look into them.

Yeah dude. Colleges prefer you have a shorter list of extra-curriculars. It means you actually can devote more time to things and are more committed. I wouldn’t worry. With your scores you should set your aims high. Have confidence!
