I just got a call from the admission officer from a school asking if I truly believe their school is my first choice. They also called my counselor and some teachers. They also checked in with my teachers to make sure everything I provided was true like my achievements and contacted a math competition organization to verify my scores. Its from a well known school with a very high yield rate and with a sub 10% acceptance rate. Is that a good sign or am I just overthinking it and its just them checking if I was telling the truth?
I’m planning not to share it because I’m a bit superstitious and worried there might be admissions officers on this forum. I know it sounds paranoid, but I feel that if an AO dislikes someone’s online personality, they could potentially identify the applicant, especially if they have unique extracurriculars or have shared too much personal info. So, I’d rather not take the risk.
