Hi, I am really grasping at straws here. I want my sophomore daughter to do SOMETHING this summer that might look good on a college app and give her a good experience, be interesting, and so she can have fun meeting people. We live in NY and arent driving more than 5 hours away. Also, I will not pay $4000 for no college credit. There is a program at University of Boston that lets them choose two courses, sounds perfect, but no credit and too expensive for two weeks. I appreciate suggestions, maybe other ideas that are outside the box?

Volunteer at a museum?

Ha, she actually does volunteer at a museum during the summer.
Ideally something residential, as we feel she needs to get away from the security blanket of home.

What does she like to do? I applied for a non-credit Syracuse Summer College program for film, but other options included writing and so forth
