Good Summer Programs for College

I was selected to be a Page in the US Senate for the spring of 2011, and will be shipping off soon. But other than that opportunity, I’m quite unaware of any programs with prestige that may help me get accepted into colleges. I received a brochure in the mail for TASP, and am planning on applying. However, I only have a 3.87 GPA and am worried that may affect my selection. I can write killer essays and am very personable and confident in interviews, but I’m just nervous about being accepted into summer programs. If you could help me with maybe 4 or 5 prestigious (but still fun) summer programs, I’d be greatly appreciative.

P.S. I am currently a Junior in high school graduating in 2012.

Being a senate page is going to trump just about any summer program you could think of. After a while, extra summer programs piled on top of each other aren’t going to help you much as far as admissions goes. Work hard second semester of junior year and senior year and you’ll bring that GPA up, not that it’s terrible to begin with.
